In Q4FY22, demand moderation was globally impacted by geopolitical crisis and supply-chain constraints. Graphite India & HEG's India production was retained at a 90% utilization level. Price hikes were healthy at +12% QoQ in Q4FY22. HEG management expects a further +5% QoQ hike in the next 2-3 quarters. In the production of steel via EAF, carbon emission is lower by ~4x vs. blast furnace (Graphite electrodes are the main heating element used in an electric arc furnace). As per HEG management, 30-35mnT of new EAF capacity could be commissioned in the USA & Europe over the next few years
